Across the accredited 3-day course, IOSH Managing Safely® delivers the knowledge needed for those in positions of responsibility to identify, evaluate and control workplace risks. This includes assessing the effectiveness and performance of the health and safety systems already in place across your organisation.
The IOSH Managing Safely® course was developed by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). This globally chartered body provides internationally recognised qualifications that promote high health and safety standards in the workplace, allowing employers to provide leading health and safety training to their staff.

IOSH Managing Safely® includes 7 units of study:
Module 1: Introducing managing safely
Module 2: Assessing risks
Module 3: Controlling risks
Module 4: Understanding responsibilities
Module 5: Understanding hazards
Module 6: Investigating incidents
Module 7: Measuring Performance
After gaining this qualification, candidates will have a firm grasp of the following areas:
Understand the importance of managing health and safety in the workplace
Define the key terms relating to health and safety
Understand how to assess, reduce, identify, and control risks in the workplace
Measure health and safety within your own workplace
Apply best practice principles to your organisation’s health and safety systems
IOSH Managing Safely® is assessed in 2 parts:
A Multiple-choice test.
A Practical assessment, in which participants must show how to apply the knowledge they have gained throughout the course to real-life situations.
An IOSH Managing Safely® certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of both parts of the assessment.
All courses can be delivered at your premises throughout the UK and Northern Ireland.
