Course Detail

Manual handling is one of the most common causes of injury at work and causes over a third of all workplace injuries which include work related Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) such as upper and lower limb pain/disorders, joint and repetitive strain injuries. NSTS has developed courses which offer both practical skills and relevant theory.

Includes training, assessments & Certificate of achievement. Tea & Coffee included. Requires refresher training at a minimum every 3 years

  • Legal overview & health & safety
  • Manual handling statistics
  • Structure of the spine
  • MSD (musculoskeletal disorders)
  • Safe lifting techniques
  • Risk assessment exercise
  • TILE (Task. Individual, load, environment)
  • PPE requirements

  • Multi choice questionnaire pass/fail

  • Risk assessment of work or training area.
