Would you like your staff to have the right skills to grow your business and all for FREE??
The Skills Support for the Workforce Programme is a free service, created to help small to medium-sized employers turn their business growth plans into reality by upskilling their existing workforce. We work with employers to identify their skills gaps and recommend bespoke training plans which will give their workforce the skills they need to grow the business. And the best bit – we even deliver the training for free.
We warn how risks are increased by unaccredited 'in-house' forklift training.
We often get asked what the difference is between in house and accredited training. Recently we have seen an increase in the uptake of in – house flt training rather than choosing an accredited scheme such as RTITB.
A story published by RTITB highlights the dangers often associated with in house training. We thought we would share it with you.
Hull based training company National Safety Training has been shortlisted as a finalist for the RTITB Partner Achievement Award 2017!
The RTITB partner achievement award is designed to recognise partner accomplishments over the past year and to encourage and reward best practice in training
This award has attracted hundreds of eligible entry's from RTITB accredited Training providers across the U.K. Following an assessment of several criteria such as business growth, feedback scores from trainees and results from audits, only 14 Training providers have been shortlisted as finalists
“The RTITB Partner Achievement Awards were created to reward forklift truck training providers for their dedication to high quality training,” says Laura Nelson, Managing Director of RTITB, the UK’s leading workplace transport training accrediting body.
Ashley Shaw Managing Director from National Safety Training said “The whole team at National are delighted to learn that we are considered to be in the top 5% of RTITB training companies in the U.K this year. Being shortlisted as a finalist is a fantastic opportunity for us. We all pride ourselves on delivering a quality lift truck training experience, regardless of the job size. From initial contact through to certification all of our customers are valued in the same way and we wouldn't be where we are without our loyal customers and dedicated staff at National.
The winner of the awards will announced on the 22nd of June at the Talent in logistics conference held in Telford. Each winner will receive a trophy and the top three prizes will include.
Gold Award - £2000 worth of shopping vouchers.
Silver Award - £1000 worth of shopping vouchers.
Bronze Award - £500 worth of shopping vouchers.
“The winners will gain recognition and acclaim from the industry,” says Laura. “However, we will also celebrate the hard work and commitment to quality training that all our RTITB partners provide.”

Jack was delighted to be offered the opportunity to prove himself at Tilsons Scaffolding in Hull.
Jack told us -
“Well before I started at National Safety Training I was unemployed also I had no qualifications. Then I started at National, I learnt a lot from the course. I succeeded in getting different qualifications. The staff were really good as I fell behind on the course, but they stood me up and helped me to catch up and pass. I now have a job at Tilson Scaffolding which National found for me. Since then I have been to work away and am more successful in life thanks to National”.
Jacks Supervisor at Tilsons Scaffolding in Hull said “Jack is a very hardworking young man. I can now leave the yard and know that it is in good hands. He has only been here for a short time and already he knows more than those here before him.”
Since starting at Tilsons, Jack has been able to earn money to go on holiday, which he was very happy about. He has also been entrusted to work on different sites alone including being sent to Newcastle for 16 days. He said he enjoyed this because he was put up in a nice hotel. Jack has also been the envy of some of his friends who have also signed up to attend the programme in the hopes of gaining employment like jack.
Onwards and upwards Jack! Well Done!
